These selections are based on my personal experiences as a golfer, with many courses played multiple times.
This course is open, forgiving, and always in excellent condition. Playing during the popular winter season will cost you around $280, but if you brave the summer heat, you’ll often find rates below $100. Its playability and value make it a must-experience for golfers of all skill levels.
Both courses at McCormick Ranch are excellent, frequently hosting tournaments and qualifiers, including two Waste Management Qualifiers on the Pine Course in 2025. The greens are consistently true, and the courses are always in great shape.

Both courses at Grayhawk are exceptional, but the Raptor Course edges ahead with its championship-level challenges and pristine design. Talon is no slouch, either, offering stunning views and an enjoyable layout for any golfer.
Raven Golf Club provides a unique twist on Arizona golf with tree-lined fairways and lush greens that feel like an oasis in the desert. Its distinct design makes it a standout course in the region.
Ak-Chin Southern Dunes is one of my personal favorites. With its wide fairways and strategically placed bunkers, it challenges your game while remaining fair and fun. The course conditions are consistently top-tier, and it’s a fantastic place to compete.
The Cholla Course at We-Ko-Pa tops my list for its breathtaking views, world-class conditions, and flawless design. It’s an unforgettable experience for any golfer, combining challenge and beauty in every round.
