The American Golf Classic & Swing for a Million was conceived with a singular vision: to create a golf tournament series that transcends the traditional boundaries of the sport, celebrating the passion, diversity, and resilience of golfers nationwide. This groundbreaking series features 50 tournaments across the United States, culminating in a grand finale in Arizona. What sets this series apart is its commitment to not only showcasing the highest levels of golfing talent but also bringing to the fore the personal stories, dreams, and journeys of its participants.
Our vision is to democratize the game of golf, making it accessible and engaging for all who wish to participate, whether they are seasoned professionals, passionate amateurs, or fans of the sport. By highlighting the camaraderie, strategic partnership, and individual perseverance inherent in golf, the American Golf Classic aims to inspire a new generation of golfers and cultivate a community that shares a deep love for the game.
Two-Player Team Events
Monday Events
Our series features 25 two-player team events, emphasizing the importance of camaraderie and strategic teamwork. This format offers a refreshing variation from traditional individual competitions, allowing golfers to collaborate and leverage each other's strengths on the course.
Each team event presents an opportunity for players to secure their spot in the grand finale, where the stakes are at their highest. To reach the final event, golfers must perform at their best in one of our 25 qualifiers. These events are designed to identify the top teams who will advance to the final stage, ensuring that only the most cohesive and strategic partnerships make it through.
Our team events are handicapped, utilizing a 2-man four-ball, stroke play format with 50% handicaps. Each player plays his/her own ball, and the best score of the two will be counted as the team’s one score on each hole. Handicaps of .5 or higher will be rounded up unless it is a (+) handicap, which will be rounded down in accordance with USGA rules.
Each event will be played under the USGA rules of golf with two footnotes: 1) local rules apply and will be defined before competition; 2) The Tournament Director will have the Final Ruling over all tournaments.
At the final event, the estimated $1 million purse will be distributed, with the winning team taking home an estimated $500,000 first-place prize, and another 34 teams sharing the remaining $500,000. This structure ensures that excellence in teamwork is recognized at every level, and all participants have a shot at a significant reward.
The journey through the qualifiers to the final event is a testament to each team's skill, strategy, and partnership. Join us in this exciting series and experience the thrill of competing alongside a trusted teammate. Together, strive to become a part of golf history.
