Swing for a Million – Terms and Conditions for Affiliate Clubs
Effective Date: March 1, 2025
Swing for a Million ("SFAM") is a national amateur golf tournament series operated by Swing for a Million LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the participation of golf courses ("Affiliate Clubs" or "you") as affiliate hosts for SFAM Qualifiers, integrating with your existing tournaments to qualify players for Divisional Championships and National Championships. By agreeing to become an Affiliate Club, you accept these Terms.
1. Eligibility and Participation
- Eligible Clubs: Public or private golf courses in the United States or Canada hosting at least one scheduled tournament between April 1 and September 31, 2025.
- Affiliate Role: Affiliate Clubs host SFAM Qualifiers as part of their existing tournaments, allowing SFAM-registered players to compete for advancement.
- Divisions: Clubs are assigned to one of four divisions—Western, Midwest, Southern, Northeastern—based on their geographic location.
2. Affiliation Process
- No Cost: There is no fee to become an Affiliate Club—participation is free.
- Agreement: To join, submit your intent via email to info@swingforamillion.com or through swingforamillion.com/clubs, providing club name, contact details, and tournament date(s). SFAM confirms affiliation within 7 business days.
- Commitment: Affiliate Clubs agree to host at least one SFAM Qualifier during the 2025 season (April- September), reporting one qualifier (Stroke Play player or Best Ball team) per event.
3. Hosting SFAM Qualifiers
- Integration: SFAM Qualifiers are integrated into your existing tournament—no additional events, formats, or scheduling changes are required.
- Player Registration: SFAM manages player registration and entry fees ($750 per player) via swingforamillion.com—clubs do not collect SFAM fees.
- Tournament Fees: Players pay your standard tournament entry fee (if any) directly to you before their first tee shot or your registration deadline, whichever is earlier.
- Qualifier Selection: After your tournament, identify and report the highest-placing SFAM-registered player (Stroke Play) or team (Best Ball) to info@swingforamillion.com within 48 hours, including name(s), score(s), and handicaps (Best Ball only).
4. Rules and Scoring
- USGA Rules: Your tournament follows USGA Rules of Golf, with any local modifications—you determine pairings, format, and tiebreakers (e.g., handicap for Stroke Play ties).
- Scoring:
- Stroke Play: No handicaps—lowest raw score among SFAM players qualifies.
- Two Player Best Ball: Official USGA handicaps required—lowest net score qualifies; clubs verify handicaps pre-tee-off.
- SFAM Players: Up to 20 SFAM-registered players (10 Stroke Play, 5 Best Ball teams) may participate per event—SFAM coordinates their entry, you confirm payment of your fees.
5. Benefits for Affiliate Clubs
- Increased Participation: SFAM targets 10 to 20 additional players per event (10 Stroke Play, 5 Best Ball teams), boosting turnout at no cost to you.
- National Exposure: Your club is featured on swingforamillion.com, social media, and SFAM marketing as one of 576 affiliates—enhancing your reputation.
- Recognition: If an SFAM player from your club wins a National Championship, you receive a $25,000 donation as a thank-you from SFAM.
- Founding Club Bonus: The first 100 clubs to affiliate receive a Special One Time donation upon completion of their Qualifier event and after the National Championship.
6. Club Responsibilities
- Event Hosting: Conduct your tournament as planned—SFAM players participate under your rules and pay your entry fee.
- Qualifier Reporting: Email one qualifier’s details (Stroke Play or Best Ball team) to SFAM within 48 hours post-event—no additional administration required.
- Fee Collection: Ensure SFAM players pay your tournament fee pre-tee-off—SFAM verifies player entry fees separately.
7. SFAM Responsibilities
- Player Management: SFAM handles all player registrations, entry fees ($750/player), and communication—providing you a list of SFAM participants pre-event.
- Advancement: SFAM manages qualified players’ progression to Divisional Championships (144 players each) and National Championships (144 players per series).
- Support: SFAM provides email support info@swingforamillion.com and event coordination assistance as needed.
8. Liability and Cancellation
- Liability: SFAM is not liable for injuries, losses, or damages during your tournament—responsibility remains with you per your standard policies. Participation is at players’ own risk.
- Cancellation: SFAM may cancel or modify the series due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather, insufficient participation)—you’re not obligated to host if SFAM cancels. SFAM notifies you 30 days prior if possible.
- Force Majeure: SFAM is not liable for delays or cancellations due to acts of God, pandemics, or government restrictions.
9. Intellectual Property
- Promotion: SFAM may use your club’s name, logo, and event details for marketing—e.g., website, social media, brochures—enhancing your visibility.
- Trademarks: "Swing for a Million" and "Swing Your Way to a Million" are trademarks of Swing for a Million i—your use is limited to SFAM-related promotion.
10. Termination
- Withdrawal: You may withdraw as an Affiliate Club before May 1, 2025, by emailing info@swingforamillion.com—no penalties apply. Post-May 1, withdrawal voids Founding Club bonuses.
- SFAM Termination: SFAM may terminate your affiliation if you fail to report qualifiers or breach these Terms—written notice provided.
11. Governing Law
- Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by the laws of Arizona, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes resolved in Maricopa courts.
12. Amendments
- Updates: SFAM may amend these Terms—changes posted on swingforamillion.com/clubs. Continued participation constitutes acceptance.
